Lo Five - Vanish

Vanish feels like a natural follow-on from Persistence of Love. A lot of the methods and sounds I’d gathered from the former really informed the latter, so it’s almost like a refined version really. These are all tracks that have been extensively jammed and allowed to slowly evolve over time, recording multiple takes until there wasn’t anywhere else to go with them.

As I’ve said before, I’m really enjoying this way of working, it feels more like you’re being guided by the music, being more economical with sound and form, letting your unconscious nudge it in the right direction until it feels ready. It’s not a conceptual album, as with Persistence of Love I was reading all different accounts of spiritual awakening at the time, which all seems to have filtered through to the overall theme.
