At the time of writing, Iklectic Art Lab is soon to close. It is nestled in a quiet and calm place under trees in the heart of London. It lies between Waterloo Station and Lambeth Palace, by the Thames overlooking the Palace of Westminster. It is a small collection of huts for artists, agricultural small-holding with crops, pigs and chickens. Our betters, with greedy eyes on profit margins, cannot tolerate such a haven of creativity and peace in central London.
This record captures Gordon Chapman-Fox (aka Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan) promoting the album The Nation’s Most Central Location. Eduardo and Isa from Iklectik recorded these tracks directly from the mixing desk on Saturday, 13 May. They contain tracks from the sell-out matinee and evening shows (sides A and B, respectively). The EP includes four songs from The Nation’s Most Central Location and one synthed-up version of The Cornerstone, taken from the more bucolic Building A New Town EP.
Gordon was ably supported by Thomas Ragsdale, who gave a blistering pair of performances, really rounding out what was a special day for all who attended.
