A South African artist living and working in Providence, Rhode Island, clocolan (Emlyn Ellis Addison) centers his musical work on analog electronics and tape machines, using found sounds and computer-based tools to shape and colour his compositions. His music has a strong anthropological slant, exploring themes of evolution and human endeavour.
His second long player on Castles In Space is a stunning, deep record of smudged electronics and features a stellar cover designed and illustrated by DJ Food a.k.a. Strictly Kev for Openmind.
Addison works with keening melodies, distressed electronic textures, and haunting monologues from dis/re/assembled recordings.
This Will End In Love examines our perceptions of time, beauty and the self. It’s a beautifully rich album full of warmth and humanity.
The album is available in Pink Nebula vinyl pressing or as two colour variants of cassette housed in a rave tape case.
